Revain has been looking for a motor that will pump liquid from a 30 gallon drum down the drain for some time. Best reviews were for sump pumps, but I couldn't fit a submersible pump in a 2" hole. Another option I found is a water transfer pump. The bad news is that most of them had to be topped up before using them, and reviews said it was incredibly loud. I use this in a lab/clinic with walls. So if these pumps were noisy outside, I wouldn't want to use them indoors. Luckily when I was browsing other websites I found that they have electric drum pumps. I chose this one because it has a telescoping air inlet so the length can be adjusted depending on the size of the keg or container. Also useful is that a plug adapter is included to match the screw on the port to the bore of the barrel. Best of all, the thing is quiet. We pumped 4 30 gallon drums in about 15 minutes. So far this is the perfect solution I needed and hopefully it will last us for a long time.
