Review on Raspberry Armor Metal Aluminium Heatsink by Jacob Leon

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I would give zero stars if I could - UPDATED

UPDATE: My customer couldn't wait extra time to replace Revain's Mazerpi. One of Mazerpi's competitors has an identical product that Revain can ship next day (Wednesday) so I ordered it and canceled the Revain replacement. here until the next day (Thursday). That wouldn't work for my client. I added a star for good customer service. Incidentally, the competitor's product ran smoothly. ORIGINAL: I love this product. Judging by the reviews, it looks cool and works well. What this Pi 4 case lacked was that it fit together nicely. If it were possible, I would give ZERO STARS here. The first thing I did was check the screws holding the two pieces together. Actually the first and the last. Three of the four bolts went in and out with no problems. The fourth bold was different; will not work! Try as I might with the cheap hex key that came with it, it wouldn't turn away. In trying to pull it out I damaged the ends of the hex key, there was no other, and there was no other way to remove the screw, so the case is being sent back to Revain for replacement. I wonder if it gets better? This was bought for a client's work and now I have to wait until Thursday to get a replacement. I will update this review after working with the replacement. It's hard to understand why the "designer" of the case chose hex head screws when Phillips head screws would probably be easier to tighten and loosen. this case. I have a similar one - practically identical - for the Pi 3B+. It comes from a competitor from Mazerpi, which unfortunately doesn't have a Pi 4 case that's easy to assemble, runs silently, and lowers the CPU ambient temperature by 4.1 degrees Celsius. No headaches with this case.
