I bought this instrument mainly to find a route for my sailboat from my boat. I used it for 30 minutes one day with no problems. The next day the device would not turn on. I thought maybe I accidentally turned it on and the battery died. When I opened the lid, I found moisture inside and the contacts began to corrode badly. I would return the device but I was in Exumas and shipping would make it uneconomical.
