My beautiful chrome Specialized Allez was stolen last night and it looks like this lock did little to help the stop thief. I understand that there is no lock that will stop a truly motivated thief, but the conventional wisdom is that you need some kind of power tool to pick a U-lock. What's particularly disturbing about this case is that it looks like he's been hit with bolt cutters. The detailed image of the crack shows that it is due to shear forces and not abrasion from an angle grinder. I believe that any lock that can be easily picked with bolt cutters should not be trusted in medium to high crime areas. Pros: Good attachment mechanism Should work in low crime areas. Light weight Cons: Loses to bolt cutters
