Review on SONGMICS Heavy-Duty Bike Workstation, Black USBR07B - Sturdy Bike Repair Stand by Govindarajan Diepenbrock

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sturdy, cheap, well made

I've ordered many of these from Revain, most require 7-8 steps more assembly than expected and are surprisingly light. This repair stand was surprisingly heavy, solid, mostly assembled and had good instructions. It's very well built with clamps that are easy to adjust with one hand (while holding the bike with the other) and inspires confidence in use. I had trouble with the parts tray when I removed it. You have to remove the tray with an Allen key or the legs will bang against it when folded for storage. Some sort of quick release would be helpful, I most likely don't plan on installing it every time I work on the bike and I don't want to take up space by leaving the work stand installed all the time. A small note: if you hit the bike, it will tip over the entire stand. I think most others will do the same, but I've noticed that more expensive racks have a rear leg that this one doesn't. A simple solution is to step on the foot while applying pressure. never mind You can also lower the bike on a stand (which worked well) or use whatever weight you like. I don't want to exaggerate this dissatisfaction, it's basically very stable if you don't apply a lot of pressure. Pros: Very cheap compared to others on the market. It costs less than $70 (from $130 to $250). Pressure, the possibility of tipping over is over, but is easily fixed with a small counterweight. A great summer repair is cheap, easy to set up, gets the job done, and will last for years of use with no disappointment.
