Review on 🔴 Polymaker 1 ASA Filament by Warrick Infinite

This filament seems to work well once you get the settings right. The supplied manual lists the following recommended printing temperatures: nozzle 240-260°C, layer 75-95. CI had some table sticking issues even with 90°C table and 250°C nozzle. Instead, I just went with the Prusament ASA profile. in a Prusa slicer running a bit hot (nozzle 260 C, layer 105 C first layer, 110 C other layers) and it works great. I use textured PEI sheet with no glue. The prints are glued securely and after cooling the part immediately detaches from the plate. Wings or underlay are not needed, but I added a "windshield" around the part (setting in Prusa Slicer) to prevent warping. The jumpers look pretty good too - you can see the clean jumpers on the fan shroud as printed (which is surrounded by a short windshield). It has a bit of an odor when printing, but it's not as bad as ABS. However, you should use a shroud to protect yourself from harmful fumes. The packaging is nice and the coil comes in a resealable silica gel foil pouch. There's a manual in the box that lists a lot of the mechanical characteristics, which is nice. There is also a good graph of strength versus stiffness for various materials. The color itself is a very, very dark gray with a slightly matte finish. See attached image comparing this black PolyLite ASA to Hatchbox black PLA fiber. It's not as black and glossy as the Hatchbox PLA, but it looks pretty good. Especially since it's currently the cheapest ASA thread on Revain, it seems like a good deal.
