They last about 2 years

I bought these a little over 2 years ago and use them fairly regularly - maybe a sewing project a month. They are pretty dull now and won't cut the threads anymore. (Just bend them.) I've never used them for anything other than thread cutting. I'm not sure if I can sharpen them or if it would be better to buy another pair of scissors.
