I have nothing to compare. I used to use a piece of tape. It's better :) Works, doesn't interfere with opening and closing the laptop lid. It's very small, thin, delicate but gets the job done. I'm not even sure if I activated it correctly, but it works. When I tried to use the camera with this one in the closed position, it blocked everything. When I use the camera with this in the open position I see everything - no halo effect. Oh I think I installed it correctly. Looks exactly like the photos in the product description. A red dot is displayed when closed. When opened, the red dot disappears and the camera is revealed. It may not matter if you know what's what. Inexpensive: 3 pieces packed.
