So I bought a 1 inch fitting because I saw the seller's response to a previous question where he stated that all fittings pipe ID (inner diameter) is measured, not OD (outer diameter). When I received the item, one end actually has a 1" ID, but the barbed end has a 3/4" ID as it tapers 1/8" inside the fitting. This reduces the flow from a 1" pipe to 3/4" which doesn't work in my application as my pump needs a 1" pipe for maximum flow. Upon hearing this, I asked the seller what fitting the inside diameter (internal diameter) is. 1" at the notched end and the response was #460 1" That's just not true (see photo) I don't really want to identify a fault, but I also hope this can help others looking for information on this product A A 1" fitting has the same outside diameter (OD) as 1" Schedule 40 pipe and has a 1" ID on the pipe side and a 3/4" ID on the barb side. ...I couldn't even get 3/4" gauge 40 hose from my local hardware store to fit the hose end (non-notched side) of the fitting. The hole is too small.
