I was looking for a good dual band router with 802.11ac support and chose this router precisely because of its features and price. I have fairly new electronics in my house and needed something that could handle all the traffic decently without spending astronomical money. The fact that it certainly comes preconfigured is great. You can start using it right away, but I strongly recommend changing the default settings. Even if you are not tech savvy, the guide will help you understand and install it. Speed is great and with the extra capacity, internet access is handled well. I was concerned about some of the reviews that pointed out frequent network (ISP) outages, but I haven't encountered this since I've had it. Even if you don't have a gigabit backbone to connect to the internet and you don't need a dedicated gigabit WiFi connection, this router will serve you well. It took me a while to set it up and set up my devices (about 30 minutes, and only because I've completely changed all the settings I think are necessary to improve security - nothing is 100% secure but you can make it difficult for unauthorized access ) and once I found all the settings suit me, it's been working ever since I connected it to the ISP network. I set it up my way and it works great for me. I would use him again if needed and would highly recommend him to anyone interested.
