Review on Enhanced Truck and Tow Brake Kit 🚛 with Calipers - Power Stop KC1890A-36 Z36 Rear by Kevin Webb

Bought this brake kit to replace everything (calipers, caliper brackets, rotors and pads). My caliper was boiling and the pads were uneven and worn almost down to the metal. I figured it wouldn't be a problem to buy as new rotors, pads and calipers would easily top $300. I could have gone to other sites to order although the cost was cheaper but other sites wanted to charge for the caliper. the main fee ($30 each) and I have to eat up the shipping cost to get the main credit back. In light of other reviews of damaged threads in caliper brackets etc. I checked all the details carefully before starting. Unfortunately, I was missing a caliper hardware kit (pad seals and two copper calipers with banjo bolt washers). Instead of returning a missing unit or contacting the manufacturer, I just went to my local auto parts store to get a $4 set of copper washers. Wasn't happy about it. Luckily I had a set of pads (with spacers) so I didn't have to buy a set. I now have extra spacers (for the paperweight). I noticed that the rotors looked like they were previously rusted and covered in silver paint on the vented edge? Did Powerstop take regular rotors and drill and cut vent holes in the friction surface to keep them looking like new? The rotors were within specification. Installing the brake was pretty easy (I have an ASE certificate). Allow about 4-5 hours including the time I spent installing and bleeding the brake system. The parking brake was also adjusted during installation. I noticed a big difference in braking performance as the pads break in, which I recommend you do to eliminate rotor distortion. Another thing to watch out for is the use of caliper lube when fitting all the pads to the caliper as directed. Would recommend to others and give 5 stars but I had to purchase additional parts to complete the job.
