Perfect replacement for my 04 F250 Super Duty

One of the rear calipers was stuck on my F250 Super Duty and after evaluating the OEM equivalent that would replace both rear brakes I found a Power Stop KC1890A-36 Rear Z36 Truck and tow brakes with a set of calipers should have been a huge upgrade and the full set was cheaper. Once I'm ready for the front brakes, I'll get the front counterpart.

Brake Caliper Failed After Only 1500 Miles

Terrible Durability! Installed these calipers and discs on my 2000 F250 6 months ago. High quality brake lube, new brake lines and all new Dot 4 brake fluid was used for assembly and installation. Subsequent break-in procedure T. The rear caliper simply stuck, pressing the pads against the rotor and destroying the rotor after only 6 months and 1,500 miles of light use. Terrible! Don't buy this junk! It's cheap for a reason!

Buyer/Installer Beware of manufacturing defects. Stamping reversed

Calipers have the wrong stamping for each side of the car L is on the passenger side, R is on the driver's side. The brakes are not bleeding properly and the calipers are forcing air into the brake lines. It took me towing, time, and an extra $350 to get the calipers right, which means they're marked on the opposite side for installation. Remember that the exhaust valve is above the brake line.

Pros
  • Very good value

  • Nothing here

Everything you need for your rear wheels

My 2000 f350 had a caliper failure. I ordered this kit after prying off one of the pistons on a failed caliper. The set came in neat packaging. The calipers are heavy so some things were shaking. One of the brake bleeder bolts was broken on arrival and I think the other was too short to fit properly. It's been a while since I installed them. I was able to reuse the old bleed screws after cleaning them. It took about 4-5 hours per person. The brakes work great. They grip better than stockersโ€ฆ

Holds the truck much better than the factory truck.

Installation was easy, all parts were there (you hear NAPA). Gave 3 stars because the fine print says the warranty is void if you don't use Dot 5 brake fluid, which I believe is silicone based. I don't know if this is compatible with the rest of the truck's components. YOU SHOULD PUT IT FRONT AND CENTER WHEN YOU BUY. I'll be mad if they fail due to brake fluid as I'm left with Dot 3/4, my manual says it's correct. Expensive so these are better last time. Take a set of cryorotors and place their

The best upgrade for your truck

I don't care how fast your truck is accelerating as long as you stop! I put on the front set about a year ago and love them. After the repair calipers I got from my local auto parts store failed in the rear (again), I ordered a rear set. Installation was easy. The quality is excellent. Pedal feel is greatly improved. I now have front and rear kits on my 7.3 F-350 and am very happy. This is a quality kit at a great price. The calipers you buy from national chains are rebuilt with mediocre parts,

Brake Quality Control

Bought this brake kit to replace everything (calipers, caliper brackets, rotors and pads). My caliper was boiling and the pads were uneven and worn almost down to the metal. I figured it wouldn't be a problem to buy as new rotors, pads and calipers would easily top $300. I could have gone to other sites to order although the cost was cheaper but other sites wanted to charge for the caliper. the main fee ($30 each) and I have to eat up the shipping cost to get the main credit back.
