Edgelit trash. Step back into quality.

I bought an 82" 2020 Q70T to replace a failed 82" 2019 Q70R that Samsung gave me a refund for. Never in my life would I have expected a newer Samsung TV to be inferior in quality to its predecessor, but here we are. Full array lighting system (Q70R) to side lighting system (Q70T). It's unbearable how bad it looks even when the room is lit. I remembered what happened when I came back and remembered the reason I paid $1,000 more to originally get the 2019 Q70R and not the Q60R. The reason I went with the Q70R was because the Q70R series was the level at which QLED sets have full array backlighting. What Samsung has done with the Q70T in 2020 is that the Q70T is the same price as the Q70R but for fewer TVs, forcing consumers to spend WAY more if they want full backlighting by hitting the Q80T transfer. It's questionable, greedy and disappointing. The differences between each TV (Q70R and Q70T) are so small that they are considered aesthetic. First of all, these are software changes. There's no reason to remove one of the most important (and most expensive) features to keep this identical model at the same price as the 2019 model. Aside from not being able to see it, the TV works as it should. Unlike other buyers, I had no problems with the software. I just scheduled a return and wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it. Instead, I bought the 2019 Q70R again because, despite its 1-inch black line error across the screen from above, it was a good TV that worked great and didn't have any backlight issues due to full backlighting. When you're spending $2,500-$3,000 on a TV, it doesn't have to look like this. .
