These little boxes solved my problem connecting my computer to my stereo. The computer and stereo are in opposite corners of my room, almost 35 feet apart. Traditional USB cables will not work at this distance. They do their job well. I only gave 4 stars because the designer overlooked the most fundamental problem. The boxes have flanges for surface mounting. Unfortunately, the Cat6 cable connections on the device are installed the wrong way around. The finger release tab on the cable mounts to the surface. If you surface mount them and have thumbs like mine, you'll have a hell of a time trying to remove that cable once it's in.
