I received this to sterilize some of my equipment that I use in my aquarium work. In this case I needed something that could hold the constant flame without damaging the item. I've tried regular lighters and even candlelighters in the past, but that was never enough. They are always too hot to serve and will eventually damage the top of the item. This thing is good here because as soon as you turn on the flame, you can move the little lever and it stays on! This thing worked for me for several minutes with no problems. Also with night lights. The only problem is that sometimes when re-igniting I have to adjust the flame. Not the worst thing in the world, but something to be aware of. At first I thought something was wrong with it when I couldn't start it after the first few times. Great way to sanitize things!
