This knife is super sharp! It's actually sharper than most kitchen knives, which I found a bit disturbing. The serrated edge works great, and it comes with a sharpener, which I can tell you, will definitely come in handy when you are outdoors and you hit the knife blade against a rock. However, I wouldn't trust my safety with this knife, especially since the locking mechanism is so poor. It is barely supported by a small spring, and even though I couldn't find a way to for ce it, I know that with a big drop the mechanism would break instantly. It's much more cheaply made than many other similarly priced pocket knives.
