I'll never be a great diver but I love diving and do it wherever I can. What should a diver like me have and wear? The mask and snorkel are my choices but I added this dive computer. While the one-button controls feel clunky, in practice it works very well and adjustments are easy. Directions could be much better but that can be overcome. The screen is easy to read, the backlight is adequate and the beeper is almost frighteningly loud, but it's an alarm! I usually dive with Nitrox and this computer can easily handle the task. I use the most conservative settings, although you can switch to less conservative ones. The wrist strap is long, but there's a great keeper to keep it under control. Using Nitrox means I have to use a dive computer and I don't like being dependent on a dive company. I also like being able to track my own dives and taking more responsibility for my own safety. Maybe a professional diver needs more bells and whistles, but I don't. I recommend it.
