Analogues used: Canon EF-S 60 mm F/2.8 USM macro, Canon TS-E 90 mm F/2.8 shiftA wonderful macro lens. My first L-ka. When I bought it, the seller had only one copy. I took pictures - like nothing, everything was fine. I came home - some unpleasant uneven spring sound came out. I was amazed, like, when I bought it, there was nothing like it. I went to Begovaya, they checked it, they said everything is in order, this is how autofocus works. Wow!? Didn't think it was that loud! Maybe I got such a copy!? Well, now I'm used to it, and I don't pay attention at all. Perhaps, some of my subjective expectations from glass from the luxury group appeared . Well, actually, about the glass itself. The picture quality is amazing. Picture, bokeh - class. Autofocus is fast and accurate. There is a three-position focus distance switch: full, 0.5 m. - infinity, 0.3 m. - 0.5 m. Very helpful. The difference in the use of these modes is felt. As a macro lens, it's sharp. The zone of sharpness is narrow, often it is not enough. Very sharp from 4-5.6 to 11. The stabilizer helps a lot when shooting handheld, it works effectively. Canon's best all-round macro lens! Used it both on the 500D and now on the 5DII. On FF - class! On the 500D, it's also not bad, one might even say that it's very good! Compared to the Canon EF-S 60 mm F/2.8 USM macro, the L is certainly better, however, it should be said here that they cannot be compared directly. One for full frame, the second for crop only. In fact, and in terms of the result, they are very similar, they have the same aperture ratio. But, subjectively, weaving, as it were, has a subtle artistic charm, volume, magic, which, of course, cannot be assessed in points and graphs. Compared to the Canon TS-E 90 mm F / 2.8 shift - 100L sharpness is better, but these are completely different glasses. The TS-E 90 is a moderate telephoto lens with shift and rotation. If we talk about one area of application, then it is intended, rather, for large, volumetric subject shooting, with the allocation of a zone of sharpness in perspective, and then, with extension rings. But, these lenses occupy different niches in product photography (if we are only talking about it). So, he is not a competitor to L-ke. I don’t use a weave often, but the focus ring is already slightly loose and has a slight knocking micro-backlash, which is disappointing. I put a Hoya filter on it. I ordered and received a tripod ring from America. Working with this glass, I get complete aesthetic pleasure. I am happy, and I wish it to everyone who uses it, plans to purchase it, or simply dreams!
