I've always bought a Makita but can't remember what really generated that loyalty. Of course they are good quality and can do the job but I think it was good value for money. And this kit offers excellent value for money. I received 4ah batteries and they are a beast. The driver seems able to control everything, and the punch goes through concrete as good or better than my wired Makita punch. I wish there could be a tool bag option as well. Just because I feel like you could probably get more details and additional stuff that a person would want to keep aside from the exercise. However, the hard case seems good enough to protect the tools. In my case there was no additional storage space on the top (like Vince in the VCG design review) but despite this I was able to fit the bitbox on top of the drive handle itself and the case still closed without issue. This box doesn't allow the driver to shift gears, so that's a good thing. I'm not a pro so I don't think they will get much heavy action but the day I have to do something heavy I know not to worry. The 5 hour version of this kit went down in price a few weeks after buying my kit but such is life. In any case, 4ah gives me enough power. I think Makita could really add a bit holder or something to these kits since they're only $3 at Revain and then DIYers can use them right away. Although I am very happy with this purchase. Suggests I'll switch to WiFi in the future.
