Very easy! The easiest way to remove soldered electronic components!

I have an old Onkyo stereo that kept clicking and I've narrowed it down to a faulty relay. Got a replacement part but didn't have a desoldering wick to make it easier to remove the old 9 point relay. None of the locals drove him, not even a big power plant. So ordered and waited a few days for delivery. Easy easy! I simply placed the end of the wick on the area to be soldered, applied the tip of a hot iron for a few seconds and watched the solder soak into the braided wick! Using wire cutters, I cut off the used 3/4 inch or so from each pair of joints to leave a fresh edge/surface. After about 3 minutes simply push out the old relay. each point with a wick and an iron to clean each point. The new relay is inserted into the board and soldered. All done in about 7 or 8 minutes And the old Onkyo is up and running again! I'm by no means a technician or repairer, but I've always been a handyman and have a very extensive knowledge of basic repairs of various things. This was my first time blowing a fuse and I don't know why I didn't get it sooner! Works perfectly.
