I was surprised at how light and thin this scarf was when I received it. I checked the small piece of fabric that came with it to make sure it was as advertised. I ran a sharp knife over it and it didn't penetrate the fabric. I don't think it will withstand a knife stab while I'm wearing it, but it's pretty cut resistant. I tried burning it and it didn't catch fire. I live in one of the coldest parts of the country so I wore it outside (see photo) when the temperature was -14°F and the wind was -33°F. It offers some protection but I could feel the wind through it. I love how breathable it is and I think it will do well for regular outdoor activities without my breath collecting moisture. However, if I had to go for a walk during a snowstorm, I would wear something warmer.
