Use the correct size drill bit and drill all the way through the block; The bits kept breaking off the first three anchors I used. Here, too, after the block has been drilled, the next pair of dowels bend when they are inserted. I used an old 12v cordless drill for the install so it wasn't a speed or torque issue causing the crashes. I gave up using stainless steel anchors, went shopping and found other brands with a very similar design that worked flawlessly.
