
I can't tell from the pictures but this shelf is light weight and the metal bars are very thin. I bought it because it's stainless steel and thought it would be easier to clean and last longer than my old chrome steel frames which rusted over time and couldn't be cleaned anymore. It also needs to be raised above the bottom of the pan to allow the fat to drain. I'll keep it for roasting veggies but probably won't use it for meat.
