Some say it doesn't sharpen evenly. It was said, perhaps by the company or the seller, that the lead was not in the center of the tree. No! Many pencil brands have the wood cut on one side and, as you might expect, barely cut on the other. I suspect this is caused by the feature preventing you from sharpening the pencil to the point by holding it when the point is on it. Even turning the pencil while sharpening doesn't prevent uneven results in most cases - see photos of Staples #2 pencil. Sharp point but as you can see in the photo this cannot be used as the wood has reached the point on one side. Also, the engine seems to have problems. Nice and durable, but more of a paperweight than a sharpener. Also many chips fall behind the tray. It works when the tray is not fully seated, which could be the reason.
