I ordered this for more peace of mind. I installed a natural gas leak detector in our kitchen and wanted to add another one in the basement near our stove and water heater. That fits the bill and hopefully both work well. This does not include any mounting hardware as it only sits in a socket. I use it in the basement so I can run an extension bar up the wall to mount the outlet at the desired height. it gives us more peace of mind. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary.
