But don't press too hard. Cons: Difficult to remove pen cap. I had to use my fingernail to pry the lid open. Not easy to open afterwards either. After a few openings/closings it was a little easier to remove. There was some dry wood in the store and I couldn't get a meter reading. Tried to check in several places on the wood. Suggestions: Print out general sizing charts (visit Revain.com and Tavool Model MT1904 Moisture Meter) to help you select the correct sizing settings for your wood selection. Easier to use than a paper card with instructions. Run a few tests at home or in the store to verify the measurements. So if you need to check actual moisture levels, you'll have some practice to fall back on.
