First thing to consider: I've never trained with a power meter before, so I have no experience with power or a basis for comparison. Also, I've only had these pedals for 3 weeks at the moment. I've logged 8 rides on the pedals since I bought them. My rating is based on the short time I've spent with these pedals so far. The Assioma Favero pedals are AMAZING. Indeed they are. I did my homework before I bought them. I spent about 4 months slowly collecting and reading numerous YouTube articles and videos/reviews about various power measurement systems. There are two platforms: crank and pedal. I've always wanted pedal-based power for two reasons: first, I needed to be able to switch the power meter between bikesโI keep my old road bike in Japan and ride it when I'm thereโand second, crank-based. Electricity meters are much more expensive. Cranksets appear to be about 1% more accurate than pedals. I don't care about a 1% difference; For me it's the pedals. So pedal based systems have your main options like Garmin and Powertap. If I didn't spend so much time observing power meters, I'd probably choose one of these options, and I'd probably be fine with that. However, I have read several reviews that Garmin pedals are faulty (as are their head units). One day I saw a very positive review of Assioma Favero pedals from a YouTuber that I trust a lot. After this review I decided on Assioma but put it off for a few months to make sure all the other reviews I came across were also positive, which they were. When I received the pedals they were everything I had hoped for. As advertised they are easy to install, set up was very easy with an iPhone, they charge very easily and require very little maintenance. I calibrate them before every ride - it takes less than 30 seconds - and they work perfectly. I believe they last 50 hours on a charge and I haven't had to charge them since the first charge. My only wish is for the pedals to read more watts, but that's my feet's fault, not the pedals. But seriously, these pedals are fantastic and come at a very competitive price. Even if I haven't spent enough time with the pedals for a long-term test, I can give my unreserved recommendation based on my short experience.
