Review on Cardone 52 7340 Remanufactured Hydroboost by Adam Martinez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I also like the brakes and the vacuum booster was extremely on.

I use a long acting cam in my restomod muscle car. I also like the brakes, and the vacuum booster was negligible at best. Power steering uses pressure from the power steering pump and conversion kits are becoming increasingly popular. These kits average between $500 and nearly $800. Using this rebuilt booster and some small brake parts from previous projects, I did a rebuild for about $200 including deposit because I didn't have the core to put the worn block back on. This booster is AWESOME. It behaves perfectly normally under normal driving conditions, but if you step on the pedal after the light use period, the car will stop NOW. I love it. It takes a few minutes to get used to the responsiveness, but after that it's fantastic. This is the best single upgrade I've ever made to a car that needs a brake upgrade. The conversion kits are much prettier (chrome and powder coated rather than painted black) and get the job done quicker, but with a little ingenuity you can save a lot of money - the story of my automotive life. NOW - THAT'S ALL SAID, IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK BRAKING SYSTEMS AND HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH THE TOOLS REQUIRED, BUY THE COMPLETE KIT - DON'T TRY IT YOURSELF FIRST TIME! Incorrect or poor workmanship can result in SERIOUS injury. The literature in the Cardone box says the same thing, trust me!
