I bought these cameras to use in an area where they are more likely to be stolen, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on them. I also have two much more expensive branded cameras in a similar (slightly safer) range so I have something to compare. These cameras work just as well as well-known brand name cameras. I've been using the same AA batteries for over a month and they're still more than 3/4 charged. Day shots are crystal clear. The night vision image is a little blurry when the target is moving, however. so dark what do you expect. One note: unless you want to get THOUSANDS of images of what must be caused by the movement of cell division or pollen blowing in the air. Set the sensitivity to a little less than max. I ended up with 14,000 (not exaggerated) photos where absolutely NOTHING happened in the first few days. Spring. I haven't looked at all 14,000 photos, so maybe SOMETHING happened, but I'm tired of looking at the first 7,000 photos of a tree that's a tree (that doesn't even blow in the wind). Overall I would buy it again and recommend it to everyone.
