First, the system cools surprisingly well - and that's really the most important thing. At first the system seems very portable, until you realize that some of the equipment for the window portion of the install is fixed and cannot be moved to another window if you need/want to move the equipment. This means you're stuck trying to find an "accessory kit" or something from the manufacturer (which I haven't been able to yet) so you can move the device between rooms without doing anything but unplugging it and plug it back in. exhaust hose and power cable. If they could offer such a kit it would be a 5 star product. But without it, it's almost like an AC box with a window because after you install the only kit that comes with the unit, you're stuck with it in that window because you can't remove ALL the pieces to get it in to install another window , only some of them. This defeats the purpose of being portable for me. I was originally hoping to use it in our living room during the day and in our bedroom at night when our house didn't have central air conditioning. But we were forced to choose a room because I couldn't find a second set of windows.
