Review on Mile Marker 449S Lock Pair by Albert Bohimia

Be patient. they fit

There is such a thing as "tight fit" and then there are things like that. If you watch this, you're probably in the same boat as I was when I tracked the ESOF hub vacuum leak on my 2004 250 F. I bought them because I was tired of removing the hubs just to unlock the front axle. Overall I like these hubs. I now have Mile Marker hubs on my F250 and Toyota pickup and they are consistent and better than stock. I have two issues with these hubs and they are not a deal breaker. The hubs initially sit about an inch inside the stock center cap. It just makes them look like a non-factory finish, and since most 449SS hubs are fitted to these axles, I don't see why the Mile Marker doesn't just make them a little longer. Second, they are tight. At first I thought I had a bug because they don't go in as easily as the factory does. It was actually pretty annoying. Here's the solution I found: Lubricate the hub, gently push in while turning so the splines align, gently tap, rotate to the next spline, tap lightly , turn, press, turn, press. Keep doing this until you get angry, then pause and take a sip of your beer. Once you've calmed down, try again. Repeat these steps 3-5 times and eventually it will slip and you never have to worry about it again.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I don't really have any complaints about it, everything is fine
