We sat down on a plate. and they hardly fit because they are long. BUT they are elegant and durable and will look great next to your plate. We just didn't have room on the table. they screw up. If they are loose, tighten them. much better than typical plastic utensils. maybe a little uncomfortable to eat due to the length. but still worth it
