Regular current clamps are not designed to correctly measure DC. Therefore, when purchasing a clamp meter that will be used primarily on AC, I still opted for the DC options at an additional cost. This should come in handy when messing around with the car. The first impression is quite good. And the 10A DC clamp showed 9.91A in one direction and -9.94A in the opposite direction; absolutely normal. And even the physics work. With five turns of wire around the clamp (see image) the 10A (impressive in my opinion) five times became 50.1A. Unless you use it as a regular tool, it's an expensive toy.
