Can help kill invasive tubevine

I bought these to slowly kill a 6 year old tubevine that took over 30 feet of live oak. Several nails were driven into the tubular vine roots and main shoots in April. I see oak trees more often in late spring and summer, when the leaves turn yellow and the small ends of the vine turn brown. Apply herbicide through the vine drilling points this fall, but it may not be necessary. Our landscaper has noticed a difference in the last 2.5 weeks.
