Stays on the dashboard, doesn't slip at all, not even with almost daily use. The clamp works fine. I bought it to hold 2 different phones (iPhone 5s and Galaxy) and 2 different GPS devices (Tomtom and Garmin). You may have to find the right place to attach it to your phone so it doesn't press any of the buttons on the side of the device, but that's not a problem. I love that I can easily remove it from the dash and tuck it under the center console so it's out of the way when not in use. It's also nice that the passenger can just grab the device while it's in the mount to check direction and simply place it back on the dash without having to unplug and snap it back in.
