When I need it, I take it out of the bottle, zip it up, and add water from my ubiquitous water bottle. Voila! Immediately wet cloth! Hooray! I bought them specifically for whale watching. I used to fold wet paper towels and store them in a ziplock bag, and I still like to do that from time to time, but they're very lightweight once dry and can be reused, so they're not as wasteful as paper towels.
