Review on ๐Ÿ“ข Powerful Hadley Horns H00964H Black Underhood Horn Kit - Enhanced Vehicle Alert System by Matt Watkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great air horns! suitable for lighting and electrical appliances

suitable for 2014 Cadillac XTS VSport Platinum. good: 1) this is my second set from the Hadley Bully Horn series. I first activated an under the hood installed lanyard chrome tube kit (part number H00961EA) and sold the car with the kit about 10 years ago. I had to keep it! So I did a little research and after a few hours of kit comparison I came back to the Hadley Bully Horn series. I couldn't be happier. Cool air horns! They're a little pricey, but as they say, you get what you pay for. I installed the whistles behind bars and am very satisfied with the sound. 2) They are LOUD. You look great too! These whistles are all black and you really have to look to see they are there, which is exactly what I wanted (my caddy is black). In my previous set, the pipes were chrome plated and clearly visible from 30 feet in front of the car. I wanted the camouflage that this kit provides. It should be noted that I bought some black air brake hoses to replace the yellow air hoses that came with it to further conceal the setup, especially behind the bars. The bright yellow tube that comes with the kit definitely catches the eye. This was a very personal choice though as the kit comes with everything you need to install and blast the horns once everything is in place. most dependent on your car.) 1) Installation was a pain! Not so much the instructions or the complexity of the kit itself - it's all very simple - but the dreaded struggle over WHERE to put everything. (I remember this was also an issue with my previous kit.) My whistles are behind bars, that's it. The air tank is relatively small, but trying to find a good spot for it under the hood of my current car was a challenge. I had nothing to work with. In the end I decided to screw it into the frame under the driver's side headlight in a small spot behind the bumper cover. I had to make a mount to make it work. The downside is I can't access it without removing the entire bumper. The good news is you can ONLY see it by looking in the engine bay. It should be noted that my previous kit's tank came with a pressure gauge which obviously should have been visible, but this kit doesn't have one so I don't think it's too much of an issue except for possible future troubleshooting. 2) The compressor is noisy. It is triggered when the pressure switch detects that the pressure in your tank falls below a set value. If everything is sealed and you don't have any leaks it will run for about 2 minutes or so and start up. So while it's temporary, I wish it was quieter. Overall a five star rating for the quality, sound and the fact that I am a very satisfied regular customer of the Hadley brand. If you doubt it and your wallet (and real estate under the hood) can support it, DO IT!
