Great value - rivals SENA but tricky

Bought this because the group I ride with wanted me to be able to socialize and I also wanted to be able to hear map directions, online broadcasts, phone calls. The group leader has a SENA 20. It took us half an hour to connect the M3 to the Sena. The only way is bypass exactly as the instructions say and not like other systems. Basically, you should treat and pair the SENA system like any other mobile phone. Then there are the limitations, no true multi-rider intercom (unless they all have an M3!) PROS: packaging, looks, contents, instructions, everything from good to great. Good build quality. The camera works as described, and the plus is that you can take photos while recording video. Clear fisheye effect - see picture. I picked up the phone with no problem, and the people on the other end of the line didn't complain about road noise, even when I was driving 60 miles an hour on the freeway. Seems very good, drove it 4 hours yesterday, took videos and talked, no problem. Although he could hear the sound of my engine, another driver said the sound was significantly better than just a phone-connected headset. CONS The application for watching videos on the iPhone without disabling the download of files does not work. waste of time. There are no instructions on how to position the device on the video helmet. I spent a lot of time getting it right and ended up pointing the camera at a slightly wrong angle. Speaker volume - The maximum speaker volume may be higher and the volume between applications will not match. For example, audible instructions/acknowledgments from the system are quieter than instructions on an associated call or card. There doesn't seem to be a way to capture a couple's conversation as part of a video with no street noise. This is a feature of some other brands. Either the instructions are slightly different or the procedures aren't intuitive, but the device is very sensitive to the steps you take to turn something on and then it's difficult to know how to reset it, turn it off, or know exactly where You are the process. Whether you are traveling alone or as a couple and both have an M2, this is extremely good value for money! If you're riding with a group of cyclists with mixed headphones, be prepared to spend some time tweaking this.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
