Review on 🪡 Organic Beech Wood Needlework Table and Lap Hands-Free Stand: Scroll Frame/Hoop Holder for Tapestry, Cross Stitch, and Embroidery Frame by Denise Davis

Useful but problematic

I'm a relative beginner to embroidery, having been doing it for a little less than a year. I started with manual scrolling frames, but quickly realized that I could work more efficiently if both hands were free to work with needle and thread at the same time. This knee pad looked like it was just what I needed and also provided a more comfortable setup for work. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a little less of a blessing than I had hoped. Once set up, the stand looked perfect, but things quickly went downhill. No matter how tight I tighten the numerous connections on the stand, something will inevitably come loose and the stand will sag or collapse—usually at the wrong time, just when I'm trying to figure out a fault in the line or when I'm trying to figuring out one particularly confusing transition. Very tiring! However, when the stand is working properly, it provides a very comfortable and enjoyable sewing environment. Unfortunately, this comfortable status quo does not last long. Something is constantly coming loose and the stand sags or collapses altogether. Not recommended.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of style
