I needed this to hold open a door that is known to close by itself. The real solution would be to hang the door properly, but that's another question entirely. It was NOT facing east to align and install in exactly the right place. I had to install it, then flip it and make new holes a little bit off. Instructions and/or template would be helpful. The real problem is that the magnets are VERY WEAK and often cannot support the weight of the closing door. For example, I opened and locked the door. and after a minute or two the door suddenly starts to close by itself. because the magnet cannot bear the weight of the door. That is the whole purpose of such an article. Therefore, you should choose a better product with a stronger magnet. I do not recommend this product. Oh, there's a spring on the side of the wall too. perhaps to soften the pounding of the constant knocking on her door. Very poorly constructed, adds extra noise and rattles that you are not expecting. I am very disappointed and can't wait to cancel this item.
