We use L-Glutamine in our daily supplements for ourselves and our children. My son has GI issues and this is great for covering and healing the gut. We give him 250 of this powder in his bottle 2 times a day and he has noticed a reduction in gastrointestinal discomfort and problems since starting to take it. While this particular L-Glutamine formula is marketed to bodybuilders/weightlifters, L-Glutamine is beneficial in other ways too, and I love that it's MUCH cheaper than pills or capsules. I wish it wasn't an add-on, but overall the product is fantastic.
