Review on OTC 8149 Conical Pitman Puller by David Herrera

Revainrating 5 out of 5

ideal for bipod arms and other suspension parts

This was purchased to remove what appeared to be an original bipod arm on a 1965 Mustang. The centering tip can be removed, which is useful when the tool needs to be slightly off center as it should have been when removing the connecting rod on the Mustang. The tool worked fine, but removing the connecting rod wasn't that difficult, so I can't say the tool's strength was tested. Removing tie rod ends and intermediate arms also worked well. The tool is of the highest quality, heavy, thick and well built so I expect it to be able to handle very tough tasks. For larger vehicles you may need a larger tool, 8150. The front cutout is approximately 1.5 inches wide and approximately 1.25 inches deep. The 8150 has a slight taper in the bore compared to the 8149 which doesn't, which can make a difference if what you get is close to the orifice size. See attached images for c comparison. The one I received was made in China.
