Review on Nostalgia MLKS100BL Two Speed Milkshake Maker by Jamie Lundgren

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Do not add biscuits, chocolate, etc. Syrup only.

I sent it back because while it looks great on the countertop it is not suitable for making milkshakes. You can only make shakes where you only add syrup to the ice cream and milk, or only ice cream and milk if you don't add the syrup. You cannot crush biscuits, M&Ms, crackers and the like. It doesn't seem to be able to shred these items, even when I pre-ground to make the cookies a lot smaller (which you should be doing for any ice cream maker anyway). He sent all the biscuit pieces to the bottom of the cup without crushing them or making them any smaller. So you end up with a milkshake with cookie bits at the bottom of the cup that weren't mixed into the milkshake at all, weren't reduced in size, and weren't mashed into the milkshake at all. I used to work in a restaurant where we made milkshakes all day, that's what we were famous for. So I know my milkshakes. The machine we saw looked similar but was obviously a lot more expensive and could shred anything while spinning. This milkshake bait can't grind anything and you can easily see and notice how inferior it is. I would spend more money on a better machine if you like making milkshakes. If you don't like cookies like Oreos in your milkshake and you can make milkshakes with ice cream and some chocolate syrup or caramel etc then that's fine for you, and if you don't make milkshakes often too then this one makes sense for you too.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • So so
