Review on πŸ”§ Proster Autoranging Multimeter 6000 Counts: An Advanced AC DC Current Tester Voltage Meter with Alligator Clips - TRMS NCV Temperature Capacitance Diode Audible Continuity Meter by Marcus Freeman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great multimeter at this price for ES/ET use.

When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised to find a very high quality device. An outer rubber boot covers most of the gauge, helping to protect it and adding to its pleasing aesthetic. The meter has separate backlight and flashlight buttons, an auto backlight off feature, and an LCD display when not in use, and the screen is large and easy to read for a meter of this size. Parameter. The buttons on the front are a bit sticky, but they also feel good. The functionality is exclusive to this value. I can get ohms and low DC autorange readings 4X faster than my previous meter for twice the price of this device and use manual range to verify my known values. My previous meter was green from an orange store with similar but lower capability than this one. If you know the brands of power tools, you can guess what I had. It's disgusting that a large chain can sell garbage screening machines like this at the prices they charge. I am a Commercial Electrician specializing in Fire Alarms and BAS. I need two types of counters. I call them my nerd counter and my work counter. I have a Fluke 323 for testing 110-480V ratings so I won't consider this meter in those ranges and at this price point. The $24 counter is not to be trusted, no matter how great it is otherwise. The alligator leashes that come with this counter are game changers for me. It is extremely inaccurate to test continuity in the kilo-ohm and mega-ohm range with sweaty fingers on both wires, looking for a resistance, ground fault, or device current. This alone saves me tons of time testing and troubleshooting my systems. The only thing missing from this device is a case with a carabiner loop for carrying in tool bags. If this thing dies in less than a year I'll let you all know how and why it did it, but I doubt it'll be a problem.
