Review on Steelex D1034 Deluxe Point 25 Piece by Deejay Devarashetty

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Another happy customer

Before ordering this bit set I had read some "less than cheap" reviews so I had a pretty good idea of what to look out for and/or what to expect . I already have a few different types of baits, but no baits. However, I received a Steelex D1034 Deluxe Brad Point kit and decided to do a very unscientific test. Before I get to that, let me say they arrived quickly (thanks Revain Prime), in an acceptable metal case for safe keeping, and insanely sharp. My drill press is a 10-inch, 12-speed, benchtop model manufactured by Central Machinery and sold by Harbor Freight. I wasn't initially impressed with the runout, so I replaced the factory Woodstock D2931 1/32 chuck with a 1./2" B16 taper chuck (also purchased from Revain and for about $17). Runout was improved and while still not perfect, it's a lot better. Now for the bitter test. I put in a 1/8" drill bit and turned on the power drill. Based on some of the previous reviews, I expected it to spin wildly , and while there was an "off," it was no worse than other new drill bits I've put a piece of writing paper on the drill press table and expect the tip of the rod to make a circle about 1/16 of an inch (maybe more) draws if I apply pressure gradually and very lightly This can be paper, once the tip hooked it the drill straightened straight away See the image provided for reference Note the size of the hole just above the 2- 3/8" line. Also note that there is no bang or any sharp breaks. Of course I may have received a kit that was the exception to all the negative reviews but I suspect not and I hope this provides positive feedback on your viewing of this Kits.As a consumer I am a firm believer in honest review and should my mind change later I will definitely update this review. However, as of this writing I believe the next entry regarding the Steelex D1034 Deluxe Brad Point bit set will order another set as a backup should I wear out and/or break a bit or two.
