I was concerned because some of the reviews were just awful. I bought them to make smoothies. I don't use frozen fruit (just fresh fruit cut into chunks) and I use small ice cubes rather than the large blocks you typically get from ice cube trays. So far I haven't had any problems with this blender. Mixes everything without lumps and the nose is great. I've also used it a few times and had no problems. Good blender for the price.
