I was surprised to learn that the washers are not removable like the original washers. While this is not an issue with many windshield light mounts, it is an issue with the Xprite mount as the washer is too large for it. I ended up spending a lot of time carefully cutting the washer with a dremel and not damaging the threads. Once removed, the screw is the perfect length to fit through the bracket and light bar mount. Time will tell if it rusts or not but you may be protected enough not to remove the washer despite light cut/handle scratches.
