A bag leaked the first time it was towed!

I have a friend who installed a similar kit on his Ford F-150 (2011 model) and was happy with it so I bought it for my early Ford F-150 (2000 ) . I paid a professional mechanic to install my kit as I didn't have a jack to raise my truck and had to drill four holes in the frame on each side. I just didn't have the tools for it, although late-day setup is relatively easy. I was delighted when I started my first ride using air springs to tow my 3000 pound 18 foot trailer. The ride was much better than without the springs. When I got home I found that the system was losing air and the shocks were no longer inflating. I paid the mechanic who installed them to check, hoping it was just an air hose leak. It turned out that while I was driving, the right side airbag was leaking somewhere. I decided to give this company another chance and sent the faulty system back and ordered a system replacement under warranty. The system is less than 60 days old so exchanges and returns were very easy. If the bag hadn't burst I would have given this set five stars on every count. Let's see how the replacement kit does. Regardless, I incurred an hour and a half labor fee ($135) to remove the faulty system and if I want a mechanic to reinstall a new kit I have to pay the same amount again. . Basically it's like buying the whole kit all over again which is very frustrating and I seriously doubt the company will do anything so I'm stuck with this extra work due to a defective bag.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
