First the result. I can definitely feel my 2003 Porsche 911 putting on a little more horsepower. The intake noise is great. It's like a jet engine meeting an afterburner. Well, maybe not quite, but a very cool sound. Further design and quality of materials. Overall, I would rate the quality of the material as very good. The metal is steel, the fittings are durable, the filter is durable. The design quality is good enough to work with. But I wish it had a top cap to reduce the chance of water getting on the filter. Finally installation. Fit well and went in with no problems. Easy installation for anyone with hand tools and some basic mechanical skills. Nothing complicated. I drove to the K&N factory from San Diego for a test drive. I asked them to check my installation and everything was fine. In general I am satisfied. I'm a little afraid that when washing the car or in the rain, water will get into the intake. A moisture protection over the filter should help.
