I immediately noticed that these are not socks with maximum cushioning, the mesh at the top is ok, but the sole is very thin. After taking them all out of the double bags and running them through the laundry, the only thing that stood out about them was the chemical smell that wouldn't wash off. snug and the toe seam was really noticeable and immediately rubbed my toes when I put the shoes on. The material seemed to compress in my shoes and pack my toes so tight it created a crease on the "arch support" making it very uncomfortable in the shoe.
